On June 17, China launched three astronauts into space aboard its Shenzhou-12 spacecraft on top of a Long March-2F carrier rocket from China’s Gobi Desert at 9:22 am. Six hours later, Shenzhou docked with Tianhe, China’s own space station still under construction. At 6:48 pm, the astronauts floated into the core module of the station, their “home” for the next three months.
